New Mail guard
Mail guard can handle any type of status notification by email sent at regular interval. If the expected pattern is not found or if no email is received for a long period, the service status switch to the failed state.

Backup graphs improvement
New graph are a lot more pleasant and easy to read. If in the past they were static, now they can be use as the base to start investigations.

Self Monitoring
MagiKmon is monitoring itself. An agent simulates common failures and check if the appropriate alerts have been raised in time. This feature was used for long time on the development platform to quickly validate new modifications and has been ported to the production system. A third system, completely independent monitor the self monitoring system for a maximum of reliability.

New SMTP features: DNS Block List and anti-virus testing
MagiKmon is now able to warn you if your mail server is listed into a Black List. It can also test if your anti-virus mail gateway is working.

VMWare ESX(i) hardware monitoring
The new Guard service monitoring allow to integrate data sent by the new MKSBackup module esxmon. This module collect data about VMware ESX(i) hardware and sent them to the Guard service. This one maintains the status and keep the last received report.

MagiKmon allow SoHo to monitor their backup for free.
MagiKmon can read email reports from popular backup software and generate nice
reports and graphs. When the backup fails for too long or the mail report is
missing, MagiKmon generate an alert to a custom email address.
